Diablo 2 assassin dragon claw build8/23/2023 It isn’t, just think of this build as a Frenzy assassin. So why is this build better than using Whirlwind? I also play single player, so high runes are not as available as they are on BNet, but I have tried to include BNet friendly suggestions where appropriate. I’ve done something similar before and with CoS it’s a piece of cake. Uh, wait, so does that mean it’s my fault? Ok, seriously, though, this build is definitely HC capable. Just please don’t blame me if you see deeds. I am not a Hardcore player, but this guide has had quite a lot of input from Nightfish, so should be Hardcore capable, although not all of us have his playing skills. The Nat’s set version is still included, but bespoke equipment is the best way to go for this build. Essential it uses physical damage and venom from a 5FPA dual claw attack, backed up with a nice juicy Corpse Explosion from Death Sentry. This Assassin build came out of a request for a build based around Natalya’s Odium Set that didn’t use charge-ups. She was the “Aggressin” – The aggressive assassin. The others said she was more like a barbarian in a frenzy than an assassin. When she was learning the black arts of assassination, she did not favour the delicate timing of those assassins who charged their bodies before delivering a knockout blow. Spirit shield is an option if you go with Enigma. She had little patience. I would say that if you don't want Enigma and are considering Jade Talon for res (thereby giving up the +skills advantage a 2nd Bartuc has over Nat Mark), full Nat set is probably very close to BiS (if it's not indeed BiS) at a fraction of the price tag for a RW build. ITD from Nat Mark, 3 sockets for Facets, tons of res/leech, and 30% DR. The +skills are on the low side, but you get SO MUCH other things you need out of it. Elemental MA assassins can also go with full Nat set. Chaos is more of its own (PvP) build - you can get another Bartuc's, or a Jade Talon if the res is really needed. I'd go with Dracs for gloves, the extra leech isn't always needed but it's very welcome when it is (you won't be wasting DPS by charging Cobra). Shadow Master is a personal choice, I wouldn't fault you for not wanting it Mind Blasting things you would'a killed instead.įor gear: dump Forti/LoH/Highlords since we are dumping phys Chains of Honor has skills and res, Enigma is always good too. Would recommend 1 pt in Mind Blast too (and its prereq, Cloak of Shadows, is also worth hotkeying). Death Sentry is worth getting (and even maxing) for its Corpse Explosion - yes, it's THAT good. I would advise against maxing the finisher in an elemental MA build because the dmg is nothing special and the AR is unnecessary due to Infinity.įor support skills: Claw Mastery is more of a 1-pointer. I'd take Dragon Claws over Dragon Flight for the finisher. This gives you AoE and a super good single target DPS option (the meteor from Phoenix Strike). Fists of Fire) instead of going with phys for immunes. I think this is a showcase of the new changes and not a guide but just in case I'm wrong (the post does have the guide tag), here's some feedback: The best part is if you're dual wielding you charge up 2 charges with one hit as well, so you can hit with claws of thunder, then hit with dragon claw, then claws of thunder, RAPIDLY using massive amounts of novas, charged bolts, and gigantic primary target damage. 2 tier 1 lightning damage on primary target. If you use the finishing move "Dragon Claws" when dual wielding, Claws of thunder will expend its third charge AND it's second charge, and it'll give you the all their tiers as well, so you get the full 3 tiers on the first charge, and 2 tiers of the second charge, with one attack. This means you can do really cool things. Both Claws of Thunder and Phoenix strike will only expend one charge when fully charged up (in ptr 2.4), but claws of thunder will use that one charge as though it has expended all 3 tiers of the effect. This behavior is different than phoenix strike for example, where when you use a finishing move with 3 charges, it'll only use the effect of the 3rd charge. One really cool thing about Claws of Thunder is that when you use a finishing move when you have 3 charges, it'll use the effects of all 3 charges with one strike, while only expending one charge. I've been messing around with this build as well.
